Your files
Photographs, signatures and PDFs that you open in any tool on this site are processed entirely inside your browser using the canvas and PDF libraries bundled with the page. They are never transmitted to FileKB, and there is no upload endpoint in the code. Nothing is stored beyond the life of the browser tab, and closing the tab discards it. You can verify this by disconnecting from the network after the page has loaded and using the tool normally.
Personal data notice
This notice is given at or before the time data is processed, in the manner Indian data-protection rules require for a notice to a Data Principal.
Data items processed. (1) Technical request data your browser sends to the hosting provider: internet protocol address, user-agent string, requested address and timestamp, kept in server logs. (2) A consent record stored in your own browser's local storage, holding your advertising and measurement choice and the date you made it. (3) If advertising is enabled and you consent to it, identifiers and device or browsing signals collected by the advertising provider through its own scripts. (4) Anything you voluntarily type into a feedback or contact message, which is limited to short text.
Purposes. Request data is used to serve the site and to investigate abuse and errors. The consent record is used to remember your choice so you are not asked repeatedly. Advertising identifiers are used by the provider to select and measure advertisements, which is how the hosting cost of a free site is met. Feedback text is used only to fix the problem you reported.
No file data is included in any of the above. Your images and documents are not part of any of these categories because they never leave your device.
How to withdraw consent. Use the "Advertising choices" control in the site footer to change or withdraw your advertising and measurement consent at any time, with the same ease as it was given. Withdrawal takes effect immediately for future page loads and personalised advertising stops; contextual, non-personalised advertisements may still be shown. Clearing your browser's storage for this site also erases the consent record, after which you will be asked again. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out.
Retention. Server request logs are retained by the hosting provider for a short operational period and then discarded. Consent records live in your browser until you clear them. Feedback messages are deleted once the issue is resolved.
Grievance officer. REPLACE_ME, reachable at REPLACE_ME@filekb.com. Data-protection questions, correction requests and complaints should go there first, and you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with the response.
Rights. You may ask what personal data about you is being processed, ask for correction or erasure of it, nominate another person to exercise your rights, and complain about how a request was handled. Because this site holds almost no personal data, most such requests are answered by explaining that there is nothing on file.
Cookies and local storage
No tracking cookie is set by FileKB itself. Local storage is used for your consent record, your language choice and your last-used tool settings, all of which stay on your device. If advertising is enabled, the advertising provider may set its own cookies after you consent, and its own policy governs those.
Children
The site is not directed at children, collects no age information, and shows no personalised advertising to a user who has not consented.
Changes
Material changes to this notice will be published on this page with a new date at the top. The withdrawal control in the footer works regardless of any change.
