A kilobyte target is the most common instruction on an Indian upload form and the least explained. This section covers the six windows that appear in real notices, and only those six. Five hundred kilobytes is where image and document limits start to overlap; it is generous for a photograph and tight for a multi-page scan. One megabyte appears on identity-proof uploads, and the page explains why some portals write 1 MB and others write 1024 KB when they mean the same thing.
