CUET UG photo and signature size — signature capped at 50 KB
CUET is the NTA exam that quietly halves the signature limit — 50 KB, not the 100 KB you may have used for NEET or JEE Main.

One number to change if you already applied elsewhere
If you filled NEET or JEE Main first, your photograph will pass CUET unchanged. Your signature probably will not. The CUET UG 2026 bulletin caps the signature at 50 KB where the other two NTA exams allow 100 KB — a genuine divergence between exams from the same agency, not a typo on our part.
No pixel spec exists, and that is fine
CUET describes the photograph the way an invigilator sees it: recent, passport style, colour, white background, 80% of the frame taken up by your face including ears, no mask. There is no dimension table to satisfy. Practically, that means the safest CUET photo is a tight head-and-shoulders crop exported around 80-150 KB, where compression artefacts are invisible.
Plan for the live capture
Like NEET and JEE Main, CUET requires a live photograph taken while you fill the form. Sit facing a window with a pale wall behind you, and check the preview before you accept the capture. Once submitted, that image is what appears on your admit card, so a blurred or half-shadowed capture is worth redoing at the time rather than arguing about at the centre.
How it works
- Take a fresh passport-style photo on a white background.
- Crop head and shoulders so the face fills roughly 80% of the frame.
- Export as JPG between 10 and 200 KB.
- Sign on white paper, crop tight to the ink, and export between 10 and 50 KB.
- Complete the live camera capture inside the CUET application.
- Keep both files for the university admission stage that follows the result.
